OUR SCHOOL

Govt Model School is situated in Thycaud, very near to the Trivandrum Central Railway station. Started in 1905 by Sri.Venkiteswara Iyer,the High School was inagurated by Sir P.Raja Gopalachari, the Diwan of Travancore. Dr. G.F Clarke M.A, PHD who came in as the first Principal of the training college within the school campus, made the school into a full fledged one.


In the year 1975 lower primary section (1-4) was separated from model school and in 1998 Higher secondary section started in the school.

The imposing main building, built along the contour of the hilly land, huge old trees, vast open grounds etc makes the school a visual treat.

The school has illustrious alumni spanning all walks of life- politics, bureaucracy, business, arts etc.
